What you’ll be doing:

• Actively participate in the creation and support of game ready assets for environment and character. This includes shaders creation and support of existing ones, post processes, exotic effects, and character integration
• Establish the technical constraints of the art and the environment art pipeline including shadow resolution, lighting methods, number of instances, world property settings, LOD rules, authoring methods and tools, memory budget, size and resolution of assets, etc…
• Establish the creation pipeline processes and workflows for artistic creations of the game, including naming convention, folder structure tools and software.
• Help profile the game content and provide the lead artist with modification recommendations to best support the SKU constraints of the product.
• Help educate artists on the technical constraints and how to understand them beforehand to make wise choices during the creation process
• Work closely with the character team to establish the character creation constraints and pipeline for our game and help with their integration in the game
• Help with the characters skeleton definition and creation, rigging pass, kit system definition and variations, physics elements, authoring methods, memory budgets, size and resolution
• Work in collaboration with the design team to make the best design choice for the game with respect to all disciplines for example: number of NPC ticks, amount of ingredients, authoring method and order, memory budget, etc..
• Help with the creation of DCC and engine tools or, in collaboration with the engineering team, help steer the creation process to provide efficient tools and systems for the team
• Actively participate in special projects and supply technical assistance when needed
• In collaboration with the lead art, drive the VFX artist in the production of efficient assets that are performant on console
• Maintain technological watch for new techniques and tools to create better products, that might be followed by due diligence, solution testing or prototyping adapted to the context
• Create efficient technical documentation requested by higher management
• Support the growth of the artistic team by sharing and teaching best practices
• Maintain an organization of your tasks, deadline and pipeline related to the game’s artistic production
• Efficiently report artistic production status update to the management team
• Participate in the selection process for the technical team and accompany them in their development
• Any other related tasks

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 5 years of experience with more then one 3D title shipped on current-gen consoles in a technical position
• Experience in a leadership role is required
• Ability to mentor and teach artists about best practices or new tools with empathy and patience
• Excellent knowledge of Unreal engine and its limitations, 3D softwares (3DS Max, Maya, Substance) and Photoshop
• Familiarity with task management softwares (clickup)
• Understanding of scripting languages (C#, Python,
• Experience developing tools for digital content creation softwares
• Experience developing shaders in the game engine and in 3D softwares
• Knowledge of the different game genres and up to date with the current video game market
• Positive attitude and team player
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Able to overcome technical challenges and think outside the box
• Great time management and organizational skills
• Detail oriented, resourceful, and flexible mindset
