What you’ll be doing:

• Participate in the creation and support of game ready assets for environments and characters. This includes shaders creation and support of existing ones, post processes, exotic effects, and character integration.
• Follow the technical constraints, processes and workflow of the character and environment pipeline, including naming convention, folder structure tools and software.
• Profile the game content and provide the team with modification recommendations to best support the SKU constraints of the product.
• Educate and support the growth of artists by sharing and teaching best practices and technical constraints.
• Work with the character team to define characters skeleton structures and constraints as well as establishing a character creation pipeline and assisting with the in-engine integration.
• Work in collaboration with the design team to make the best design choice for the game across all disciplines
• Create DCC and engine tools or, in collaboration with the engineering team, participate in the creation process to provide efficient tools and systems for the team
• Participate in special projects and supply technical assistance when needed
• In collaboration with the lead art, support the VFX artist in the production of efficient assets
• Interest in technological breakthroughs and tools to create better products, that might be followed by due diligence, solution testing or prototyping adapted to the context
• Create efficient technical documentation when needed
• Maintain an organization of your tasks, deadline and pipeline related to the game’s artistic production
• Efficiently report artistic production status update to the management team
• Any other related tasks

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a technical artist
• Ability to teach artists about best practices or new tools with empathy and patience
• Knowledge of Unreal engine, 3D softwares (3DS Max, Maya, Substance) and Photoshop
• Familiarity with task management software (clickup)
• Understanding of scripting languages an asset (C#, Python)
• Interest in tools development for digital content creation softwares
• Experience or interest in developing shaders in the game engine and in 3D softwares
• Knowledge of the different game genres and up to date with the current video game market
• Positive attitude and team player
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Able to overcome technical challenges and think outside the box
• Great time management and organizational skills
• Detail oriented, resourceful, and flexible mindset
